Lawn Aeration

Double-pass core aeration using higher-quality equipment — because results matter. Not your average rental machine.

Why Should You Aerate Your Lawn?

Lawn aeration is essential for maintaining a healthy and vibrant yard. Aeration relieves soil compaction, allowing your grass to grow deeper roots and make better use of water, fertilizer, and other lawn care inputs. In Centennial, foot traffic from pets, kids, and mowing will compact soil and stress your residential lawn.

Rainfall and sprinkler irrigation further compact the lawn soil, reducing large air spaces where roots grow best. Compaction is more severe on heavy clay soils and mostly occurs in the upper 1 to 1.5 inches of soil.

Thatch Build-Up and Lawn Health

While a thin layer of thatch is beneficial, too much blocks air, light, and water from reaching root zones. Thatch accumulation should not exceed ½ inch. Core aeration minimizes thatch buildup and helps improve your lawn's overall health. For recently renovated yards or areas showing thin patches, pairing aeration with lawn seeding can help fill in bare spots and establish a thicker turf.

What to Expect

After a double-pass core aeration, your lawn will be dotted with small soil plugs. Yes, we aerate your lawn twice in one visit — because results matter. This is not your average liquid aeration or rental machine; our higher-quality, cam-shaft-driven equipment ensures exceptional core coverage without tearing your turf.

About 7 to 10 days later, aeration holes will fill with white, actively growing roots — a clear sign your turf is absorbing more oxygen, water, and nutrients. Remember: along with a good core aeration, it's also necessary to have proper fertilizer, adequate moisture, and water longer and less often vs. every day.

When Should You Aerate?

Spring and fall are the best times for lawn aeration in Centennial. This helps loosen compacted soil, making fertilizing and weed control efforts more effective. Your lawn care strategy should also include proper watering and a routine sprinkler system check if your system isn't delivering water efficiently.
